Biographies

Barry Alberstein, MBA, Ph.D.

Dr. Barry Alberstein is a Clinical and Consulting Psychologist with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He consults primarily and extensively with the life insurance and financial services industry on building a clientele, activity management systems, and changing agency cultures. He focuses on a consultative selling model built on needs based, relationship driven marketing and is a recognized authority on the psychology of creating trust in client relationships.

 

Dr. Alberstein has been a featured speaker at many life insurance industry meetings, including repeat presentations to The Million Dollar Round Table. He has spoken internationally in Budapest, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore and China. He is the author of numerous articles on various aspects of the life insurance career and is on the faculty of The Fastrack Academy for Northwestern Mutual. In addition to an active performance coaching practice, Dr. Alberstein regularly facilitates monthly producer performance (Client Builder) groups and has personally conducted over 3,500 such groups, for various companies, in the past twenty-nine years.

 

He and his wife, Delia, worked with O. Alfred Granum, CLU on the classic industry text, Building a Financial Services Clientele as well as a companion text, Managing Through the One Card System. Dr. Alberstein has also authored an innovative course on the psychology of creating enduring client relationships through the principles of trust and attraction.

 

Dr. Alberstein’s unique combination of clinical, business, and consulting experience provide valuable insights into the psychology of the consultative sales model for selling life insurance and related financial products.

 

Dr. Alberstein obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle, having previously received his MBA from Northeastern University in Boston, and his BA in Communication from the University of California at Berkeley.

 

Dr. Alberstein is currently on the Board of Directors of the Edge Foundation, a non-profit organization conducting research and providing coaching to students with ADHD.

 

 

Delia Alberstein, CLU, ChFC

President

Delia Alberstein has an extensive background in the Life Insurance and Financial Services Industry. She was a successful agent for twelve years and served four years in agency management as the Associate General Agent for The Connecticut Mutual in Seattle, Washington. There her duties included recruiting, selection, initial and advanced training, as well as field and office supervision of agents. In that capacity, she brought their new organization from 44th to 5th in the company within three years and received Connecticut Mutual’s prestigious Management Council Award each year in management.

 

In 1994, Delia joined Barry full time in their consulting practice. In that capacity, she has co-authored the classic industry text, Building a Financial Services Clientele with Barry and O. Alfred Granum, as well as the companion text, Managing Through The One Card System. In addition, she has conducted numerous agent and management training courses regarding the installation of the Client Building Culture. She has trained the One Card System both domestically and internationally in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Budapest, Malaysia and China.

 

The trio of Delia, Barry and O. Alfred Granum has written and produced several complete video and text training programs for managers and representatives including, “Managing Through The One Card System” and “Client Building Through The One Card System.” In addition, Delia has specialized in customizing and integrating representative training and management systems for companies such as MassMutual, The Prudential, PCA Life of Japan and Mutual of New York.

 

Possessing a total mastery of the One Card System and agency management, Delia is a professional trainer who truly understands what it takes to develop successful representatives, thriving agencies and enduring careers.

 

Ed Gabriel, B.S., mba - Software Engineer

Ed is the software engineer for both Alberstein Consulting and Career Activity Management, LLC. He manages our software programming, project management and customer technical service.

 

In addition to a B.S. in electronics engineering Ed has an MBA and a professional degree in Project Management from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. Ed has extensive software development experience and has developed solutions for: Telecom, Healthcare, Insurance, Government, Construction and NGOs. In addition to sofware engineering skills Ed is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

 

 

Betsy MCcORMICK, cLIENT cARE sPECIALIST

Betsy brings over 30 years of client service and executive assistant experience. Her career began with the title insurance and escrow industry for over 20 years, including the co-ownership of an escrow company. Betsy's extensive professional career has focused on providing the highest level of service and professionalism.

 

 

 

 

 


CJ Stauffer, account executive

CJ has an unique background in business administration and

problem solving. He recently completed three years working in China for a major manufacturing company. He has a B.B.A degree in Global Management from Pacific Lutheran University and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Supply Chain Management from The University of Washington. CJ also has an extensive background in real estate sales and marketing where he developed his philosophy of complete client commitment.
